About Rachel
I'm Rachel, an artist, lifelong ocean lover, school social worker, wife, mother, runner, and surfer.
Growing up on Florida's east coast, I was always drawn to the sea. At 15, I discovered surfing, and it quickly became more than a hobby—it became a way of life. The ocean has been one of my greatest teachers, offering lessons in patience, resilience, humility, and joy. It has shown me the beauty of slowing down, embracing change, and finding peace in the present moment.
Today, whether I'm chasing waves, running along the shoreline, spending time with my family, or volunteering with Surf For All—a nonprofit organization that helps people of all abilities experience the joy of surfing—the ocean continues to inspire every part of my life. I've seen firsthand how time in the water can build confidence, create connection, and bring a sense of freedom that extends far beyond the beach.
That connection to the ocean is at the heart of my artwork. I'm inspired by the rhythm of the waves, the changing tides, the treasures scattered along the shoreline, and the way sunlight dances across the water. Working primarily with alcohol ink, I create fluid, contemporary pieces that reflect the movement, depth, and serenity of the sea. Every piece is an expression of the calm, wonder, and healing I experience whenever I'm near the ocean.
As a school social worker, I spend my days supporting others through life's challenges. Creating art is another way I share that same intention—to offer a sense of peace, comfort, and connection. My hope is that each piece brings the feeling of the ocean into your home and serves as a daily reminder to pause, breathe, and reconnect with what brings you joy.
